Yoshiya Hirayama's research focuses on the aggregation of different media for possible new compositions: image, sound,sculpture. He experiments with what is offered by these various methods to critically engage in a potential metaphysical sphere. During his studies at Zokei-University he worked with earth, wood and stone. The experiences and impressions he drew from this examination built the foundation of his practice today, whichis now enlarged by materials like plaster, everyday objects and photographs. For years he has been making sound- and video installations, that combine frottage, drawings and process noises.
